Post 127: How to Make Friends While RV-ing

Life can get kinda lonely when you’re on the road, away from your friends and all things familiar. Fortunately, the open road is full of possibilities when it comes to getting to know like-minded people.

Below, we offer some tips for making friends while RV-ing.

Try Casual Conversation Starters

If you’re walking around the RV campground, be ready to greet others with a smile and a quick hello. Ask people how they’re doing. It’s wonderful how people open up. Before you know it, you will be chatting away with your very own RV group. Swap travel tips, meet more hiking buddies, and share your favorite camper stories over a meal or bonfire.

Spend Time Outside Your RV

Holing up in your RV isn’t going to help you meet people. Spend some time outside! When you sit outside your RV in easy sight of those passing by, it sends a signal that you are open to chatting.

Placing more chairs beside you is a great way to let your fellow RV-ers know that you wouldn’t mind company. Having a comfy place to sit lets people know that they can always stop by for a quick visit.

Meeting Other RV-ers Through Groups

There are many established RV groups that bring together camper enthusiasts. You can usually find these by word of mouth, or on the internet via social media. It’s a great way to meet more people, swap tricks of the trade, attend events, and even get discounts through partner organizations for RV-related supplies.

Are you in the market for an RV? Johnnie Walker RV carries a variety of RVs for sale, which you can see online or in-person at our dealerships in Las Vegas, Nevada.
